Printing some parts on the 3d printer to test fit, then I'll build the real parts. Anything new on the software/hardware side? Anyway, I got kinda side tracked, two of our squadron member died last week, our cadet commander and his dad, so I haven't really been working on it in the past week.

Right, I heard about that, forgot it was you. Take your time getting together, that's a tough loss. Software can't be updated until the prototype airframe is ready.

Kay, I have two possible airframes designed, one that's "aerodynamic" and one that is not, the one that is not aerodynamic is probably are best bet because at such low speeds, aerodynamics is not a big deal, and since it is boxy, it can fly low and slow, and it is cheaper and easier to make.

Okay then. I looked around today at how much materials cost and I estimate the airframe to cost no less than $50 and no more than $100, but $100 is a high estimate, I don't see it costing more than $75 really. And that includes everything from the landing gear, to the ailerons. That price does not include any electrical systems though. With my current design for the airframe, we can either place the motor inside or outside the fuselage, but I recommend the outside, that way we have more room for the other hardware. Speaking of which, do you want the dimensions of the inside of the fuselage so you know about what we can fit in there? If you do, I could give you a rough estimate today from what I have written down, but my drawings are on the comp. at school, so exact dimensions would have to wait until monday.

Okay, 8x8 inches on the front tapered to 1x1 inche on the rear face. The length is 26 inches an the taper is even all the way through for the fuselage.
